From Providence: 95 N or S to 195 E to 24 S (Newport/Tiverton exit) to 138 S thru Portsmouth and Middletown along East Main Rd. (rt. 138) to Aquidneck Ave. traffic light. (Dunkin Donuts and Frosty Freeze on the rt.) Take left at traffic light onto Aquidneck Ave. to Memorial Blvd. Travel Memorial Blvd. past the beach to Bellevue Ave. Left on Bellevue Ave. past shopping centers to Ruggles Ave. (approx. 10 streets down on the right.) Stay on Ruggles past the ballfield and take the next rt. onto Old Fort Rd. Enter large parking lot on left and go up the hill. Enter thru red doors. Gym is on right. FROM ROUTE 1: Jamestown/Newport Bridge ($4.00 toll each way) Take first exit off bridge and bear rt. Travel to second traffic light. Bear rt. onto America’s Cup Ave. to traffic light by post office. Bear rt. onto Thames St. and follow to end. Enter large parking lot across from the fire station and go up the hill. School is on left. Enter thru red doors and gym is on rt.

Be a part of tennis history and play on our famous grass courts, open for public play mid-May through early October. Reduced museum admission, locker rooms, towel services, USPTA professional instructional services/programs. Nationally recognized junior program. Lawn croquet play also available on request. Seasonal memberships available.

8 Full Tennis Courts open during park hours 8am to sunset and are first come first serve.
The courts are closed to the public during Recreation Department Tennis Programming, check the Tennis Site of the New Tennis Courts Programming website for availability

FROM NEWPORT BRIDGE:
Follow to end of bridge, take a left onto Admiral Kalbfus Road, at second light take a right onto Broadway. Take a left onto Vernon Avenue approximately 1/8th of a mile on the left. The field is on the right just after Freeborn Street.
FROM NORTH OF NEWPORT:
Take Route 24 South to Route 114 into Newport. Route 114 will turn into a single lane at Broadway…approximately 1/8th of a mile take a left onto Vernon Avenue and the field is on the right after Freeborn Street.

From 95 North or 95 South: -Take Exit #8 (from the north) #8A (from the south) -Go right off the ramp and proceed to major traffic light/ intersection (Dunkin’Donuts on right) -Go straight through light for about 1 1/2 miles to next light -Take left at light onto Middle Road -Follow less than a mile over highway overpass -Take your immediate right onto Avenger Drive SOCCER-FIELD HOCKEY-FOOTBALL-BASEBALL-Park in lot straight ahead at the bottom of the hill SOFTBALL-TENNIS -Take a left at bottom of hill after “the rock” -Follow road in back of school to courts and field VOLLEYBALL-WRESTLING-BASKETBALL -Bus drop off around circle in front of school
FROM 95 north/south take exit 5A to Route 3. Take left onto RT # 3 north. School is one mile on right. From South County or Newport take Route 102 north to Route 3. Take right onto Route 3 north. School is one mile on right.

Make a left onto Ronaele Drive

Outdoor, lighted tennis and basketball courts and track are available at the Portsmouth High School on Education Lane.
From the North
Take Rte 24 South into Portsmouth – Take Exit 1 (Turnpike Avenue) – at end of exit turn right and go under over pass – Entrance to school is next left.
From the South
Take Rte 138 North into Portsmouth – Look for Clements Supermarket on the right hand side – Go to Next light (Bank of Newport will be straight ahead) – Bear Left onto Turnpike Avenue – Entrance to school is approximately 1/4 mile on the right.
From 95, either north or south, take exit 6a (Hopkins Hill Rd) and follow Hopkins Hill Rd to Rte 3 (Tiogue Ave.) Turn left onto Tiogue Avenue. At your fifth traffic light(apx. 1 mile) turn right onto Reservoir Road. Travel apx. 1/2 mile, entrance to Coventry High School will be on your left. Gymnasium is equipped with an AED unit.
