Each year, four of the 12 positions on the USTA Rhode Island Board of Directors become open. Board members with expiring three-year terms may seek re-election. USTA members in good standing may also apply for a three-year term.
Each candidate must complete an application, indicating why they want to be a board member and their areas of interest to serve the board. There are seven to eight board meeting each year that members are expected to attend.
Board members must also pass the Safe-Play Course and a Background Check on USTA.com before they can take a seat on the board.
Candidate applications will be reviewed by the Nominating Committee, and may receive an interview. The Nominating Committee will choose a slate that will be enacted upon at the state association’s Annual Meeting.
